Summary

Based on the hit Netflix show from the head writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender, this humorous, in-world notebook has everything a fan needs to know about the magical world of The Dragon Prince

It all started when Callum and Ezran met a Moonshadow elf and discovered the egg of the Dragon Prince。 So much has happened since then! The trio is on a quest to return the Dragon Prince to its mother in Xadia, Viren seems to have evil plans, and, oh yeah -- Callum's learning magic! There's a LOT to keep track of, so Callum is writing about (and drawing!) all the things he learns in this book。 Things like:•Stats on the ELVES, DRAGONS, and other creatures they've met on their journey •All the cool places they've been in KATOLIS and XADIA•Funny things that happened! •RUNES, SPELLS, and other stuff Callum needs to know about PRIMAL MAGIC (and DARK MAGIC, too) And MUCH, MUCH MORE, including whatever Ezran, Rayla, Claudia, and Soren add when they steal this notebook from Callum! Features original concept art not found anywhere else -- a must-have for any fan of the show!

It was a nice addition to the TV show。

This was a super cute refresher of the series while we (im)patiently await the next season。It was basically just information on the characters, places, creatures and magic types in the series as written in Callum's spellbook。The only thing that got me was that after watching the show, it didn't seem like it was Callum that was writing it。 The voice of the writing just sounded like a much younger person writing it than Callum。There were a few extra informational bits and a little bit more about t This was a super cute refresher of the series while we (im)patiently await the next season。It was basically just information on the characters, places, creatures and magic types in the series as written in Callum's spellbook。The only thing that got me was that after watching the show, it didn't seem like it was Callum that was writing it。 The voice of the writing just sounded like a much younger person writing it than Callum。There were a few extra informational bits and a little bit more about the more side characters that I must have missed while watching the show。 I think I will rewatch the show soon and now I will have a little bit more background info! 。。。more

I LOVE THE DRAGON PRINCE!! Callum is probably my favorite character and I love that I got to read from his spell book!! It’s so interesting to get into his head。 There were details throughout that kinda made me emotional such as him scratching out “the king” and writing “dad” over it。 It was a good overview of the world。 You get to learn more about the different types of elves and Xadia。 One of my favorite features is the map of the human realm and Xadia。 It was interesting seeing the layout of I LOVE THE DRAGON PRINCE!! There were a lot of really cute pieces of character backstory, as well as lore in this book, however, I wouldn't say it's a must-read。 I loved hearing about Callum's life in the castle; traditions he and his family had growing up, his relationship with Harrow, everything similar to that。The rest of the book, however, just felt like a recap of the series and characters we already know well, which made it feel a bit pointless at times, cute and well-illustrated as it was。The only two key takeaways There were a lot of really cute pieces of character backstory, as well as lore in this book, however, I wouldn't say it's a must-read。 I loved hearing about Callum's life in the castle; traditions he and his family had growing up, his relationship with Harrow, everything similar to that。The rest of the book, however, just felt like a recap of the series and characters we already know well, which made it feel a bit pointless at times, cute and well-illustrated as it was。The only two key takeaways that I would say are worth it to know were a recipe for the famous jelly tarts (which I can't wait to try out), and the statement that, whenever the key of Aaravos is rolled on the ground, it always leaves a trail of markings pointing in the same direction, which become more pronounced once it's in Xadia。 I'm sure some fans picked this up during the show, but as someone who missed this detail, I was shocked to find that out (and the implications it has for future plot lines)。Overall, a cute, fun read that doesn't offer much new in regards to the series。 。。。more

I instantly fell in love with the show and I just had to get my hands on this book。 While it is a quick read the amount of information it provides is amazing。 I would have to say that if you haven't watched the series this book might be confusing。 (And really if you haven't already watched The Dragon Prince then what are you doing with your life!!!!) The artwork is the same style as in the show so it really does feel like I stole it right out of the show!

I haven't seen Dragon Prince yet, so a lot of spoilers for me, but I don't mind。 If anything, thanks to this book, I want to watch the show more, so I guess later today when I have time/am doing some fitness/exercise I will go to Netflix to watch this show, thankfully it is on the Dutch Netflix。 This is a delightful and gorgeously illustrated guide to the show。 We learn about various things that happened, we read about characters (and OMG there is a sweet LGBT couple there), about elves, about t I haven't seen Dragon Prince yet, so a lot of spoilers for me, but I don't mind。 If anything, thanks to this book, I want to watch the show more, so I guess later today when I have time/am doing some fitness/exercise I will go to Netflix to watch this show, thankfully it is on the Dutch Netflix。 This is a delightful and gorgeously illustrated guide to the show。 We learn about various things that happened, we read about characters (and OMG there is a sweet LGBT couple there), about elves, about the countries, the history of the land, magic, and more。 It was a delight and the world seems amazing and so much fun。 I just wanted to dive into the book, into the world。 I can also honestly say as someone who never watched the show that this isn't a problem at all。 I never felt like I should have watched the show first or know more about the characters。 The writer has a way to pull you in, and the art also helps (Holy wow that is gorgeous)。 Recommended。 。。。more

What can I say? I am a fan of TDP show and I am being starved of content until season 4 (hopefully) comes out。 So this was a perfect appetiser for me, with lovely drawings and pictures and a lot more insight into the TDP world。 I am tempted to knock a star off due to there being no Rayllum content, but I'll leave it for now。 I'm still waiting on season 4 Netflix, I'm still waiting。 What can I say? A book that targets younger audiences, but I am a child at heart so I couldn't say no to this。 It doesn't add new important information for the main story, which is a good thing for people who can't or aren't interested in buying it。 Giving a summary of what has happened so far along with some new art pieces and fun details about the characters。 It surely got me excited for the next season。 A book that targets younger audiences, but I am a child at heart so I couldn't say no to this。 It doesn't add new important information for the main story, which is a good thing for people who can't or aren't interested in buying it。 Giving a summary of what has happened so far along with some new art pieces and fun details about the characters。 It surely got me excited for the next season。 。。。more

This was a really fun look into the world of The Dragon Prince that included so much from the show, and a few hints at what may be coming next。

It's hard to rate books like these because I wish the book had more info, but it's both aimed at a young audience and it's written from Callum's POV。 So, everything is filtered through what Callum knows。 Still, it gives a decent recap of much of the knowledge learned throughout the show, and it also gives a little bit of new knowledge。What seems odd to me is that this book covers some of what happens in season 3 but acts like they haven't accomplished their goal yet (plus skipped over a few impo It's hard to rate books like these because I wish the book had more info, but it's both aimed at a young audience and it's written from Callum's POV。 So, everything is filtered through what Callum knows。 Still, it gives a decent recap of much of the knowledge learned throughout the show, and it also gives a little bit of new knowledge。What seems odd to me is that this book covers some of what happens in season 3 but acts like they haven't accomplished their goal yet (plus skipped over a few important details)。 I get you want to give people a reason to check out the show, if this book is their first exposure to it, but since each season drops all at once and this talks about events from season 3。。。 It was a little bit weird of a decision to make。What's even weirder is omitting one of the spells Callum learns。 I mean, this book talks about the desert, talks about Nyx, but then doesn't mention the spell Callum learns during the episode。 It's a spoiler, yes, but there's bigger spoilers this book mentions! Then we come to when the book talks about Rayla's home。 This is Callum recounting his journey through an info perspective, but it's odd there's zero mention of the consequences for Rayla being the only survivor。 That was also kind of odd。I really wish this book had covered more of Viren and Aaravos--but, again, this is all from Callum's POV (other than a few notes written by friends)。However, for what this book is, it actually covers quite a bit of info and is a great refresher to the world/characters。 Also, I love that this book keeps Callum's art style from the credits of the show。 It's great to have that consistency, even with a different medium。 It also truly sounds like Callum was the one who wrote this book, and that he wrote much of it as he was journeying (and some after meeting up again with various friends)。Overall, I'm glad I decided to pick this book up--not only for the bits of new info we get, but also because it's a great in-world item。 It can be difficult to bring an in-world book into our world, as they often end up simpler than they should be, but this book does great at it。 It's enjoyable, I love the art, and it's nice to have a quick guide to the world/characters。The only things that truly bother me are the three omitted details, but the first one makes sense in a weird way。 The other two really should have been included。 。。。more

It’s a kid’s book。 And I am not a kid。 However, the beautiful art, concise presentation of the lore, glossy production, and tight editing make it well worth the price if you’re a fan of the show like I am! Season 4, please。

It was good。 It was really cute with beautiful illustrations。 It just gave the basic information of the Dragon Prince series and the world and characters that we know。 It also gave a bit more information on things we didn't know about like the other types of elves, dragons, arcanum and more。 I enjoyed it。 It was good。 It was really cute with beautiful illustrations。 It just gave the basic information of the Dragon Prince series and the world and characters that we know。 It also gave a bit more information on things we didn't know about like the other types of elves, dragons, arcanum and more。 I enjoyed it。 。。。more
